PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Swing Check Valve with Counterweight is designed to automatically control reverse flow in piping systems. Forward-moving fluid causes the disc to swing away from the seat, creating an open flow passage. When the flow slows or begins to reverse, the disc returns toward the seat and closes the valve.

An external lever and counterweight assist the closing movement of the disc and allow the closing characteristics to be better suited to the pipeline operating conditions. The valve operates automatically and does not require a separate powered actuator.

Its ductile iron construction, flanged connection and durable internal components make it particularly suitable for water distribution, pumping stations and industrial utility services.

KEY FEATURES & ADVANTAGES

  1. Automatic Non-Return Operation
The valve opens in response to forward flow and automatically closes when reverse-flow conditions develop.
  2. Lever & Counterweight Mechanism
The external counterweight assists disc movement and provides a controlled mechanical closing action.
  3. Heavy-Duty Ductile Iron Construction
The robust body is designed to withstand demanding pipeline and installation conditions.
  4. High-Strength Body Material
QT450-10 grade ductile iron can provide tensile strength above 450 MPa and elongation of approximately 10% when manufactured and verified to the applicable material specification.
  5. Protective Epoxy Coating
An epoxy coating of approximately 250 μm provides additional protection against corrosion and environmental exposure.
  6. Durable Seating Options
Brass, stainless steel and resilient seat configurations can be selected according to the required service conditions.
  7. Reliable Backflow Prevention
The swing-disc arrangement provides an effective non-return function, helping protect pumps and upstream pipeline equipment from reverse flow.
  8. Low Flow Obstruction
When fully opened, the swinging disc moves away from the main flow path to provide a relatively unrestricted passage.
  9. Pressure-Tested Construction
Shell strength and seat tightness can be verified through pressure testing in accordance with the specified testing standard.
  10. Wide Utility Application
Well suited to municipal water systems, pumping stations, power facilities, petroleum-related utilities and general industrial water pipelines.
